Remaker AI is a website of AI photo tools at remaker.ai, best known for its face swap. In our tests on 18 and 19 October 2026, a face swap worked free, with no account and no watermark, in seven to eight seconds, until it asked us to sign in. Credits are sold only for crypto or through Telegram, and the privacy policy never mentions the photos you upload.
What is Remaker AI?
Remaker AI is a browser-based set of image and video tools: face swap for photos, GIFs and videos, a background remover, an image upscaler, an AI image generator and photo editor, headshot, portrait and tattoo generators, a magic eraser and a video enhancer. It runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, and the site links to no mobile app.
Its homepage claims "millions of creators", and it is genuinely popular: the investment firm a16z put Remaker on its list of the top 50 generative-AI web products in August 2025, a ranking by monthly visitors, and India is its biggest market: Ahrefs counts 533,000 searches a month for "remaker ai" in India, 59% of the world total. The domain was registered on 10 May 2023. The site does not say which company runs it; the only contact it gives is support@remaker.ai.
Is Remaker AI free, and how much does it cost?
Partly. The basic photo face swap is free and starts without creating an account: the page promises "No sign up, no watermark", and our first swap on each day came back that way. It is rationed, though. A few tries later on 19 October, from the same connection, pressing Generate brought up a sign-in box instead of a result:

Remaker's face swap on October 19, 2026, a few tries after the first free swap of the day.
Signing in with Google brings 30 free credits, the box says, and Remaker's FAQ adds that "New users receive free credits upon sign-up". Most other tools and larger jobs cost credits, which you buy in one-time packs that, the site says, never expire:
Credits | Price | Cost per 100 credits |
|---|---|---|
200 | $5.99 | $3.00 |
530 | $9.99 | $1.88 |
1,100 | $19.99 | $1.82 |
3,000 | $49.99 | $1.67 |
20,000 | $299 | $1.50 |
Credit prices per job are listed on the pricing page: two AI headshots cost 8 credits, two tattoo designs 4, and four memes 1.

How do you pay for Remaker AI in India?
Not with UPI, and not with a card on the site. The pricing page offers "Card via Telegram", which means paying inside Telegram, or crypto. Its FAQ is blunt:

Remaker's pricing FAQ on October 18, 2026.
The same FAQ adds that "payments made via Crypto and Telegram Stars are non-refundable". Yet Remaker's homepage still says the opposite: that it accepts credit cards, debit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay, and that "all payments are securely processed by Stripe".

Remaker's homepage on October 18, 2026, promising card, Google Pay and Apple Pay payments that its pricing page does not offer.
The terms add a third version: refunds "returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank". Before you buy, assume the pricing page is the one that applies, and that a crypto or Telegram payment cannot be reversed.
How to use Remaker AI face swap
To start, open remaker.ai, then Face Swap and Single Face Swap (the page is remaker.ai/face-swap-free).
Under Upload Original Image, add the photo whose body and background you want to keep.
Under Upload Target face, add the face to put into it.
Choose one of the two models under Model Version. Remaker says v2 is "faster & more realistic" but "may be unstable", so try v1 if v2 fails.
Tap Generate, then Download. The page says "every image will be deleted after 1 days", so save the result straight away.

The same page has Multiple Faces, for group photos, Batch Swap, and a Video & GIF face swap.
What happened when we tested it
Our test, run without signing in on 18 and 19 October, used two of Remaker's own sample photos rather than a real person's picture. Remaker's server replied "User not logged in" and ran the job anyway. The result arrived 8.1 seconds after we pressed Generate on the first day and 7.1 seconds on the second: a 618 by 618 pixel PNG with no watermark.

Remaker's face swap the moment the result appeared, October 18, 2026, in our test browser: still signed out (Login/Signup at top right). The inputs are Remaker's own sample photos.

The result file from Remaker's server at full size, from our run on October 19, 2026: no watermark or label in any corner.
Nor is there a label inside the file. A PNG keeps any text, camera or provenance data in separate chunks; this one has only the three every PNG needs, the header, the pixels and the end marker:
$ python3 pngchunks.py result.png
618 x 618 PNG, 663,911 bytes
chunks: IHDR, IDAT, IEND
metadata chunks: noneThe Content Authenticity Initiative's checker, Verify, found no Content Credentials in it either: its reader returned "No C2PA manifest found in this file".
Two more things showed up in the requests. First, both input photos were uploaded to Remaker's image server, cdn.rmimgs.com, at addresses that open for anyone who has the link, with no login. The file names are long random strings, so nobody can guess them, but a photo you upload is not kept private behind your account.
Second, the face swap runs on an engine called FaceVary: the name is in the address of the tool's API (ai-facevary), and the page's own text slips into "You can use FaceVary to swap faces".
Is Remaker AI safe?
The website works and asks you to install nothing, but it tells you very little about who runs it or what happens to your photos. Weigh these before uploading anything:
No company is named. The privacy policy calls the operator only "Remaker AI." and gives an email address.
The privacy policy never mentions photos. The words "photo", "upload", "face", "retain" and "delete" do not appear in it. It reads like a template for an advertising company, cites the EU's 1995 data directive that the GDPR replaced in 2018, and says data may be stored "on servers in the United States or in other territories".
The terms name no country. The governing-law clause says claims "shall be governed by the laws of us", a template left unfilled.
Uploads sit at open links, as our test showed, while the homepage promises "zero data breach risks".
Payments are crypto or Telegram only, and non-refundable.
Remaker's terms do draw a line on misuse: "Users are strictly prohibited from generating, sharing, or using unlawful images or videos, including deepfakes", and "likenesses of individuals cannot be utilized without proper consent". The face swap page itself, though, advertises "Celebrity Face Swap: Place your face onto the photo of any celebrity", and its demo image pastes one film actor's face onto another's.
The safe way to use it: swap only your own face, or a friend's who has agreed. Never upload photos of children, ID documents or anyone who has not said yes, and download your results rather than leaving them on Remaker's server.
Is the Remaker AI app on Google Play official?
Not as far as anything shows. The app called "Remaker AI Face Swap" on Google Play, the third result for "remaker ai" in India, is published by "RMOT DEVELOPER", whose other apps are an SMS launcher, a location sender, a contacts backup and an LED scrolling-text banner. Remaker's website links to no app; its FAQ says Remaker works on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices when you log in with the same account. The app shows ads, has more than a lakh downloads and a 3.8-star rating.

Two other results borrow the name too. heyvid.ai's "Remaker AI" page sits on HeyVid's own platform, not remaker.ai, and a Pinterest pin links to Remaker's free face swap. The real service is remaker.ai. Borrowing a popular name for an app is a common pattern; we found the same with a fake TeckJB app.
Is face swapping legal in India?
Swapping your own face for fun is ordinary photo editing. Using someone else's face to pass yourself off as them is not: under Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, 2000, "whoever, by means of any communication device or computer resource cheats by personation" can be jailed for up to three years and fined up to one lakh rupees.
India also tightened the rules for the tools themselves. Amendments to the IT Rules, in force from 20 February 2026, require services that offer AI image generation or editing to label synthetic images and embed provenance data in them, according to MeitY's official FAQ. The same FAQ lists, as content that must be prevented, an intimate image of a person "created using their real photographs (face swap/morphing), circulated without consent". The image Remaker gave us carried neither a visible label nor any embedded data.
None of this is legal advice; if a face swap of you is circulating, report it to the platform hosting it and on the government's cybercrime portal.
Remaker AI alternatives
If you only need a background removed or a photo cleaned up, not a face swap, Remove.bg, Photoroom and Pixelcut are on the same a16z top-50 list as Remaker. We have not tested them for this review, so check their pricing pages for how they take payment before you buy.
How we checked
Checks were made on 18 and 19 October 2026. The face swap was run in a clean browser profile, not signed in, with Remaker's own sample photos; the script recorded the site's responses, the time to a result and the saved file, whose structure we read chunk by chunk. The screenshot of the result is the one the script took the moment it appeared; the full-size image is the file Remaker's server returned.
Pricing, the privacy policy, terms, content policy and face-swap page were read in full on remaker.ai. The Google Play listing was read with the store set to India. Domain dates are from public RDAP records, and the a16z ranking, Section 66D and the 2026 rules are quoted from their official pages. Search figures are from Ahrefs' India database and Google Trends. Screenshots are unedited crops of the live pages. We did not buy credits, sign up or upload any real person's photo.
Frequently asked questions
Is Remaker AI free?
The single photo face swap is free with no sign-up and no watermark for the first tries; after a few, it asks you to sign in with Google, which gives 30 free credits. Beyond that, credits cost $5.99 for 200 up to $299 for 20,000, as a one-time purchase.
How many free face swaps do you get without an account?
Only a few. In our tests the first swap of each day went through without an account; a few tries later on 19 October, from the same connection, Remaker asked us to log in first.
Is Remaker AI safe to use?
It works, but its privacy policy says nothing about uploaded photos and names no company, and uploads sat at open links in our test. Use only your own photos, never children's or anyone else's without consent, and download results promptly.
Does Remaker AI add a watermark?
Not on the free photo face swap in our test: the result was a clean 618 by 618 PNG.
Can I pay for Remaker AI with UPI or a card?
No. Remaker's pricing page accepts only crypto or "Card via Telegram", and says card payments on the site are not supported. Crypto and Telegram Stars payments are non-refundable.
Is the Remaker AI app on Play Store real?
The "Remaker AI Face Swap" app is published by RMOT DEVELOPER, not linked from remaker.ai, and carries ads. Remaker itself works in the browser.
How long does Remaker AI keep my photos?
The face swap page says results in your history are deleted after one day. The privacy policy gives no period for uploaded photos at all.
